The Trash Makeover Challenge 2022 Will Feature Austin’s Sustainable Creativity

The Trash Makeover Challenge fashion event is Austin’s fashion combo offering an environmental and sustainable angle. This unique fashion show will feature amateur and professional fashionistas who will use at least 90% recycled materials to craft spectacular garments and showcase them in a dazzling fashion show.
Previous event designers have used materials from more than 900 Coca-Cola bottle caps made into a coat, over 600 fish scales made into a skirt, live ladybugs released onto the garment, plastic bags, dryer sheets, placemats, bubble wrap, just to name a few of their one-of-a-kind materials. This year the 2022 lineup will feature 21 designers who will take the challenge for the ultimate Austin fashion challenge bragging rights.
The 2022 event will feature two ways to enjoy the event. The in-person fashion show or view via a paid online Zoom format.
The live event will start at 5:00 pm on Saturday 9/24/22 at the Texas Disposal Systems Event Pavilion in South Austin, 11508 Carl Rd 78610. For the online event, a suggested donation of $36.50 is suggested or a donation of your choosing.

If you want to attend the event via Zoom, a registration link for the online streaming of the event will be sent to you after your ticket purchase. The Zoom event will begin at 7:00 pm.
A LIVE interactive performance will feature Saul Paul, and Emcee Sarah K. Smith, Mrs.Houston Earth USA. Honorees – Travis County Commissioner Brigid Shea & Environmental Attorney Marisa Perales.
The panel of judges for the show will be: Diana Sek, Brand Ambassador, Life Grows Green, Jew Don Boney III, Service Ambassador, Neiman Marcus and Denise Hernández, Judge-Elect of County Court at Law #6, Travis County.
There will be complimentary food & drinks, and a unique live and silent auction.
