The Trash Makeover Challenge 2022 Will Feature Austin’s Sustainable Creativity

The Trash Makeover Challenge fashion event is Austin’s fashion combo offering an environmental and sustainable angle. This unique fashion show will feature amateur and professional fashionistas who will use at least 90% recycled materials to craft spectacular garments and showcase them in a dazzling fashion show.

Previous event designers have used materials from more than 900 Coca-Cola bottle caps made into a coat, over 600 fish scales made into a skirt, live ladybugs released onto the garment, plastic bags, dryer sheets, placemats, bubble wrap, just to name a few of their one-of-a-kind materials. This year the 2022 lineup will feature 21 designers who will take the challenge for the ultimate Austin fashion challenge bragging rights.
