Austin Has a New Fresh Top Model Face
Austin has a fresh new model face and it’s Nicole Glenn! She was named the 2013 Top Austin Model after a three month long competition. Brianna Fleet, creator and owner of Butterfly Entertainment hosted the evening’s festivities at Zach Scott Theatre.
This was the final time the models walked the runway in several designer looks in front of the celebrity judges. Lauren Polt of chica-d, Hair Designer Ivy Kim, Photographer Peter Tung, Top Austin Model Winner Brittany Walker and InFluential magazine editor William Jackson added up their scores to select their winner.
Models wore clothing by local designers Heart-Shaped, Navi Bleu, and Teresa Valenzuela Basa, with hair and makeup provided by Jackson Ruiz Salon. The top three contestants included winner Nicole, Cameron Curphey and Lani Radar. The online vote for Fan Favorite went to Harlee Rae.
The crowd was also entertained with a fashion show from Capra and Cavelli. The famous faces included Marques Harper of the Austin American Statesman, Eric Renteria of Etiquette Vintage Design, Matt Swinney of Austin Fashion Week, Mic Trotty, The CW Austin, AJ Vincent named “Best Keyboardist of Austin” 2011 and 2012, David Yeomans of KXAN Weather, and more! DJ Brandon Shabazz. Melanie Phillips and a dance by Tiny Dancer was also part of the entertainment lineup.
Top Austin Model was created in 2011 by ButterFly Entertainment and exclusively features Austin-based talent and businesses to serve as a platform for creative fashion professionals in Austin, Texas. Congrats to all and thank you to Brianna for including me in past events as a judge. It has been fun to see the talent and pool of models in the city get better with every show I attend.
