Noah Marion Quality Goods Hosts Instagram Gallery Show

I recently awoke to a pretty gray morning and poured myself a cup of coffee, a desperate attempt at banishing the not-so-designer bags under my eyes. Half an hour of primping and frantically throwing clothes around my bedroom and I was finally out the door— but not before posting my daily #selfie. I was headed to One by One TX’s Celebration of the Art of Instagram, a statewide art show featuring mobile photography from local and international artists.
The three-day family-friendly event was held in February at Artpost Austin, and featured work from 100 of Instagram’s most recognizable photographers, including Pei Ketron, Michael O’Neal, trashhand, Lauren Marek, and Chris Schoonover.
Instagram, now owned by Facebook is clearly a hit with its 300 million and counting active users. Trends like the Weekend Hashtag Project, daily themes (think Throwback Thursday), and selfies are soaring. Many fashion designers now employ the social site for networking and promoting their unique brands— and Noah Marion, featured at One by One’s event at Austin’s Artpost, is no stranger. Amidst all the eclectic art and live music at the InstaCelebration, Marion fit right in.
Noah Marion Quality Goods, combination shop, coffeehouse, and studio, was launched four years ago with only 30 leather goods and has now grown to over 100. He focuses on untreated, undyed, natural vegetable tanned leather, which accounts for the pieces’ perfected aging. Marion’s striking accessories and home goods (leather and otherwise) are made to order, by hand, one at a time.
At the event, Marion was giddy talking about his handcrafted products to everyone at the booth. With his items, you get so much more— a friendly bearded face, a story, and character that can surely only come from a timeless heirloom passed down through the family.
For Spring 2015, you’ll see lots of bohemian styles coming into play. Marion’s accessories flawlessly embrace this to create an avant-garde originality that Austinites treasure.
You can follow @noahmarionqualitygoods on Instagram to check out his latest endeavors, and head over to Marion’s brick and mortar located on South Lamar, where you can often see Noah working on his next project.
Your accessories game (and morning routine) will be thanking you with Marion’s soulful and effortless hats, bags, and more, for ladies and gents alike. As the mustachioed maker himself would say: Live well!
