Fashion X Austin's ~ Austin Fashion Week – New Events include Style Queen's Premiere and Moda X Mexico

It’s that time of year in our fashionable city! This weekend starts several days of in-store parties, get together’s that will feature all that the Austin fashion scene has to offer. The event is now going into the 9th year, and while many things have changed, some are still very familiar. The runway shows are always crowd pleasers and they seem to get better every year. From up-and-coming designers, to celebrity status Project Runway names, you won’t be disappointed. Don’t forget to get your tickets to the runway shows!!
Moda X Mexico, a black tie affair, is the first-ever Austin Fashion Week event of its kind. All attendees will enjoy front row seating, featuring full collections presented by Mexico’s most influential designers Abel López, Amor & Rosas, Benito Santos, Olmos & Flores, and Paco Mayorga while indulging in Mexican-inspired food and drinks.

And to kick off the week-long fun, the first-night will feature a unique event with the premiere of Style Queens, Episode 1 – Taylor Swift. The already sold out event will get the week started off in style with a fun night of fashion and film and a will be fun to reconnect with old fashion friends.
STAX Entertainment in association with Future Sight Entertainment has chosen Austin as the premiere city fo Style Queens an hour-long show centered on celebrity fashion icons and their unique style. Distributed by Content Entertainment, Style Queens is currently airing on NBC Style Network in Australia and Discovery Channel in the Middle East. U.S.A. and European broadcast will be announced soon. Episode 1 features Taylor Swift and her signature style evolution throughout her career. Style Queens provides a glimpse into Swift’s trendsetting looks and passion for her two fur babies, Olivia and Meredith, her Scottish Fold cats.
Episode 1 stars some of Austin, Texas’ most fashion-forward including celebrity stylist Holly Mills-Garner, Heather Campbell-Green, Ricky Hodge, Anne Hudson, and Christian Ramirez, who discuss what trends Swift has created, reviews about her red carpet looks, and how her style has developed.
The event is invite-only (currently sold out) and will officially open Fashion X Austin’s Austin Fashion Week and will be held in the heart of downtown Austin at 800 Congress providing a modern glam backdrop for the event, just a few blocks from the State Capitol. Guests will enjoy Dripping Springs Vodka, Salsa Crilolla, and swag from local media darling Fashionably Austin.

Additionally, the event has partnered with Marco’s Fund, dedicated in the name of former UT student, Marco A. Baillargeon, assisting first and second generation immigrants who need guidance and support while on their path to becoming successful leaders. One deserving The University of Texas at Austin senior in the Division of Textiles and Apparel will be awarded the Marco A. Baillargeon Scholarship at the premiere.

Tara Pirnia – Executive Producer/Director Former UT Student, Tara started as a local Austin entertainment reporter for the former News 8 Austin. She went on to California to produce/direct many well-noted films, network specials, and documentaries. Eva Longoria’s Versus series (2016), Cristiano Ronaldo: World at HIs Feet featuring Benedict Cumberbatch (2014) One Direction: The Only Way is UP (2012) and Steve Jobs: iGenius (2012) are a few of her credits. Most recently she has added the Style Queens series to her list. The six-part episode show features the lifestyles and fashion choices of the most notable worldwide names, including, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez and Kate Middleton.
