Carolina Herrera ~ Fall 2015

Russ & Company 125The nice thing about the fashion industry is that you can take any of the trends that come out each season and make it your own.  There are no rules these days to wear or look a certain way…thank goodness!
At New York Fashion Week it is fun to wait and see what is going to come down the runway and what the direction the lead hairstylists will take with the designer’s collection.
Orlando Pitt, the lead hairstylist for Carolina Herrera created a sleek, simple, semi-wet looking pony tail wrapped in a silver band.  A simple hair design for a collection that went from simple classic looks paired with flats to flowing red carpet gowns. What else would you expect from Carolina!

Venexiana ~ Fall 2015

From simple to elaborate there is nothing better than a good undo.  At my favorite show to shoot, Venexiana the hair team created a hairstyle that looked like it came right out of a 16th century fashion history books.  The elaborate hair was swept up, teased, twisted and cascaded down the back with a pony tail with  several elastic bands wrapped down the locks.  The hair look was accessorized with a vintage brooch.  Truly the most complicated look of fashion week but the look went with designer Kati Stern’s vision of romantic opulence.
A loose and complicated double braid look was shown at Mara Hoffman. And over at Badgley Mischka I found my inspiration for my red carpet moment at Austin Fashion Week.  A wonderful, loose, half undo that is soft, whimsical and on trend.
Take a look at all the different hairstyles from several of the shows.  Enjoy!
