Designers & Schedule Announced for the 2017 Fashion X Austin/Austin Fashion Week

Fashion X Austin/Austin Fashion Week has announced the 2017 designer line-up for this year’s lineup of events.  There are some new events, and of course, the much-anticipated runway shows which are always a crowd favorite.  Get your tickets early and see you at the end of the runway!
SATURDAY 5/13 – MODA X MEXICO. 7:30p.m. Doors; The Driskill Hotel 
Moda  X Mexico, a black tie affair, is the first-ever AFW event of its kind. Enjoy front row seating, featuring full collections presented by Mexico’s most influential designers Abel LópezAmor & RosasBenito SantosOlmos & Flores, and Paco Mayorga while indulging in Mexican-inspired food and drinks. In addition to these full collections, meet and shop acclaimed accessory designers Ambaria GaleríaArte JoyasLørdag & SøndagMarina Gutiérrez Jewelry, and Smile & Shine. View a special installation by Mandarin Design Lab. The event will benefit the Hispanic Alliance.
SATURDAY 5/13WEDNESDAY 5/17 – AUSTIN FASHION WEEK SOIREES   Various Times and Locations 
Join AFW at Soirees as Austin boutiques, salons, and spas open their doors to host designer trunk shows, mini runway events, shopping events, and more. Festivities will begin at retailers in the 2ND Street District on Saturday, May 13th before moving to retailers in Domain NORTHSIDE on Sunday, May 14th. THURSDAY 5/18 – AUSTIN FASHION WEEK RUNWAYS & GALLERY   6:30p.m. Doors; JW Marriott Austin 
The Runways & Gallery nights begin with collections from local favorites May Designs showing apparel for the very first time and This Is Sloane, and looks from Ballet Austin and UT Fashion Students; discover out of market designers, Becky HollandsRong Zhang and Shalyguo; and stars that have been featured on Project Runway including Amanda Valentine and Kelly Dempsey, who will be making her AFW debut. In addition to these full collections, there will be three-look capsules by Texas-based designers AdearaEllis BellHouse of Cynthia’s “Huron Collection”Jacqueline BergeronMegan FullertonmegMORGANPinup HouseSixChel by Dina Chávez, and Tashumbra. Makeup provided by Koh Gen Do Cosmetics.

Thursday Runways & Gallery will honor Style Setter Ana Ruelas with a portion of “Style Setter” ticket proceeds benefitting Ballet Austin.
FRIDAY 5/19 – AUSTIN FASHION WEEK RUNWAYS & GALLERY   6:30p.m. Doors; JW Marriott Austin 
Friday’s Runways & Gallery feature full collections presented by local designers Boudoir QueenBrittany NicoleHarry Rex, and Lee Merritt Swimwear; out of market designers Hopeless + Cause AtelierMiles David, and Wearable Sculptures; and stars that have been featured on Project Runway including Daniel Esquivel and Gunnar Deatherage. In addition to these full collections, there will be three-look capsules by Texas-based designers Daniel Hinojos, Day Avery, HAUS of HeirsLaLaLa Lo La ClothingMariAscoli, My Boyfriend’s Briefs, and Sydney Morris- the Label. Hair provided by SALON by milk + honey, makeup by Koh Gen Do Cosmetics.
Prior to the runway shows and during intermission, browse and shop The Gallery featuring nearly 20 pop-ups of apparel, jewelry and accessory lines, including: A.S. Styled Life, Basal, BERNINA of America, BETTY ALIDA, Cassandra Collections, Evangeline Clothing, Janika Design, King & Rose Optical, Koh Gen Do Cosmetics, Molly Phillips, and Penny Luck, among others. A portion of Friday Runways & Gallery “Style Setter” ticket proceeds will honor Style Setters A.J. Bingham, benefitting YMBL Austin Sunshine Camps, and Cassie LaMere, benefitting Center for Child Protection.

Saturday’s Runways & Gallery include full collections presented by locals Big Bertha’s Paradise and Ross Bennett, and a show from Austin School of Fashion Design; collections from independent out of market designers Abi FerrinLiznaNomzee Designs, and Primrose; and stars that have been featured on Project Runway including Melissa Fleis and Something by Sonjia. In addition to these full collections, there will be three-look capsules by Texas-based designers Aplomo, CA$HMERE MAFIIA, FERRAHGWENIVXJ. Ewing DesignsMansion RoseMasha Osoianu DesignMonks & Mavericks, and Nina Means. Makeup provided by Koh Gen Do Cosmetics.

SUNDAY 5/21 – AUSTIN FASHION WEEK BRUNCH   1:00p.m. Doors; Domain NORTHSIDE (Exact Location TBA) 
Join Austin Fashion Week for a stylish Brunch presented by Northside Next. Enjoy epicurean food and drinks with a series of special runway shows from Domain NORTHSIDE stores tableside with makeup provided by Koh Gen Do Cosmetics. Brunch will honor Style Setter Ava Late with a portion of all tickets benefitting Darrell K. Royal Research Fund for Alzheimer’s Disease.
