Austin Fashion for Good Events Begin With Shopping, End with Runway Shows

Fashion For Good, formerly known as Fashion X Austin and host of Austin Fashion Week, will host various fashion events October 20 through October 26 with runway shows being presented the final three nights (October 24-26) at The Domain.
Austin Fashion For Good is the leading fashion event producer in Texas and beyond. With a heavy emphasis on emerging designers, Austin Fashion For Good aims to connect these designers direct to consumers and boutique buyers. Fashion For Good supports sustainable and ethical brands, as well as runway inclusion, giving back, and accessibility.
Schedule of Events:
- October 19 – 23— “Shop for Good” retail events. Participating retailers will donate a portion of proceeds to The Kindness Campaign. The event will benefit The Kindness Campaign (TKC), whose mission is to inspire social change through the power of kindness. TKC was founded to give voice to a generation of young people who aspire to stop the harmful cycle of bullying.
- October 24— Haute Dogs: Fashion show featuring local influencers dressed by The Domain retailers accompanied by their furry, four-legged friends. The event will benefit Hounds for Heroes, an Austin organization dedicated to providing service dogs for veterans suffering from PTSD and mobility issues. Models include Tribeza publisher George Elliman, and TV Host Amanda Tatom and
Fashionably Austin founder Cheryl Bemis.
- October 25 — Runways: Designers. This will be an unforgettable runway show featuring looks from multiple designers, including Project Runway stars Amanda Valentine and Anthony Ryan. Other designers showing are Samantha Placencia, Brittany Allen, University of Texas, Ferrah, NefrFreshr, Austin School of Fashion Design, Garage Sale X Olyvia, Bad Behaviour, Anoteros, LALA, Kweens, and Crystal Design. It will honor style-setter Sarah Stem and benefit the Texas Advocacy Project. Doors open at 6:30; show at 8:00 p.m.
- October 26 — Runways: Redefined: Austin-based nonprofit organizations will participate to create the most inclusive fashion show this city has ever seen with each charities’ recipients as models. Your favorite Domain stores will dress over 100 models that represent the nonprofit organization’s story. Models will include chefs, musicians, cancer survivors, models with special needs, and others. Charities include:
o Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM)
o Austin Speech Labs (provides therapy for stroke victims)
o Girl Scouts of Central Texas
o Battle for a Cure Foundation (helping children fighting cancer)
o Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)
o the Sanctuary Project (supporting human trafficking victims)
o the Other 23 (a veterans non-profit)
