Austin Fashion Brand Lilly Lorraine Shows at Nolcha Fashion Week in New York City

BOTG 125 logoFor more than six years the Nolcha Fashion Week event has given an opportunity to many up and coming designers the opportunity to show their collections in New York City.   There were previous Austin participants Rochelle Rae of Rae Cosmetics and designer Rene Geneva back in the earlier days of the event.
The event has been streamlined, updated and been receiving positive reviews from not only the press but also from the designers who participate in the shows.
It was the last show we were covering for Fashion Week and what a great one to wrap up our week.  Rachel Elsberry, Diane Keen and myself packed our cameras and headed to Pier 59 to interview and meet our Austin connection.
We were met with open Texas arms when we arrived and quickly set up to chat with Designer Christi Craven of Lilly Lorraine.  After our interview backstage, we patiently waited for her collection to hit the runway.  She  premiered a hand full of pieces that featured her patent-pending textile made of bamboo mixed with other natural wool fibers. The soft hand of the fabric is amazing and each piece was impeccably tailored to fit each model.
The collection also featured pieces in red, a signature color Craven said she will use not only in her collection but you will also see it in her Austin showroom .  It was the favorite color of Christi’s  grandmother, Lilly Lorraine, the namesake of her brand.
It was exciting to see the collection come down the runway and see a little bit of Texas fashion to end our New York Fashion Week trip.  Beautiful!   Click here to see more pictures from the show.
