2012 Austin Fashion Week Rising Star Enjoying TV Facetime on Telemundo
After helping Austin stay stylish for the past few years, Christian Ramirez has now been selected as the new fashion stylist for Un Nuevo Dia on the Telemundo Network. With this gig, he will discuss the latest trends and cover fashion events all around the U.S.
“It’s unreal! I still have not been able to process it all,” said Ramirez. “I can say that I am very honored to form part of a very influential morning show on an international level, as this show airs nation-wide.”
Recently, he even got to co-host at the Latin Billboard Red Carpet – one of Telemundo’s many special events – alongside Kika Rocha, the fashion director of People en Español. He considers this icing on the cake, as he knew the possibilities and opportunities that this new venture could bring would be on a completely different level for him.
“I literally felt at the moment that anything and everything is possible,” the stylist said. “I have been to many very important red carpet events, awards shows, movie premieres and fashion events, but none will ever be able to compare to what I felt at the Latin Billboards. I think after four years of hard work, networking, sacrifices, sweat and tears, I finally made it.”
Ramirez actually got his start in fashion through modeling, which he slowed down on a few years ago to focus on his education and styling. Now, he’s been making clients look fabulous for over six years, earning him a winning streak at Austin’s Fashion Week, with Best Male Model (People’s Choice) in 2010, Best Male Model (Editorial) in 2011 and Rising Star in 2012.
His passion for fashion is evident, making him known in the ATX area and abroad for his commentating at fashion events, working with some of the biggest fashion houses – like Alexander McQueen, J Mendel and Herve Leger – and styling, as he has even done our own Cheryl Bemis’ hair and make-up for the past two Austin Fashion Awards!
Within the past two years, Ramirez has even gained even more international recognition after being part of F Magazine and Hola! In these publications, he styled three consecutive editorials of over 15 pages of fashion, including the cover photo of global pop star Maite Perroni.
Currently, Ramirez is filming Un Nuevo Dia in Miami, and unfortunately missed most of the Austin Fashion Week fun, but we’ll let it slide!
